Biography

Dr. Marcelo Demarzo is a physician, researcher, and senior mindfulness instructor with extensive expertise in preventive medicine, mental health, and wellbeing. An Associate Professor (Livre-Docente) at Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP), Marcelo is the founder and coordinator of Mente Aberta — the Brazilian Center for Mindfulness — and Director of Mind Br consultancy. He created the MBHP protocol, listed on eAMBA, and designs evidence-based mindfulness and wellbeing programs for clinical, educational, and corporate environments. A CNPq productivity fellow (1D), Marcelo also serves as Visiting Honorary Professor at the University of Technology Sydney and Research Affiliate at the University of Melbourne’s Contemplative Studies Centre. His international work integrates neuroscience, clinical practice, and applied mindfulness to enhance resilience, mental health, and organizational wellbeing. Marcelo regularly delivers training, coaching, and consulting programs globally, helping individuals and organizations build sustainable performance and psychological health.
